DEFINITION
Develop and manage brand and strategic marketing plans in addition to all communications and public relations for Visit Grand Junction; oversee all marketing efforts and international programs including earned, paid, and owned media; integrate efforts in all brand and marketing campaigns; support destination management through branding, promotion, packaging, international sales, print, and online platforms; analyze marketing analytics and report metrics while implementing and managing actionable insights across all channels and departments; manage request for proposal (RFP) processes, implementation, and agency contracts; and perform a variety of duties relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Receives general direction from Visit Grand Junction Director.
PRIMARY DUTIES--The following are examples of primary duties assigned to positions in this classification. Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Develop, create, and implement annual marketing strategy and plan for local (in-market), regional, national, and international markets in earned, owned, and paid media; manage budgeting and reporting for all marketing programs; analyze and report on programs.
2. Document and manage all journalists, stories, contacts, and community partners in customer relationship management and deploy communications area-wide; compile year-end reports detailing public relations value and stakeholder engagement; develop and design Annual Report.
3. Partner with marketing team and advertising contractors to develop, implement, monitor, assess, and evolve creative campaigns, media plans and data collection; monitor and advise on campaigns including media placement, ad creative, branding, and integration with earned and owned media.
4. Develop, execute, and access public relations and influencer programs, campaigns, public relations pitches, and other media relations; serve as spokesperson liaison with media and local tourism partners; coordinate communication; handle media requests; schedule and host media/influencer visits; provide interviews and quotes as needed.
5. Design, coordinate and implement release of written material including press releases, newsletters, presentations and the crisis communications plan; oversee writing, design and printing functions.
6. Oversee the creation, acquisition, and production of creative assets, including images, photos, videos; recruit and schedule models, scout sites, manage location/partner outreach, and shoot schedule; manage contractors and RFP process for creative asset development.
7. Execute a strategic content calendar for the website, blog, email marketing and social media channels; ensure all copy is aligned with brand messaging and positioning; collect and track data; manage relationships with website, social media aggregator, email marketing, reporting, and contractors.
8. Assist in the development and execution of marketing-related needs of other departments, such as collateral development, branding elements, tradeshow materials, and newsletters.
9. Develop and execute an annual international trade sales and marketing program; manage international trade leads; seek out, assess and book opportunities for international marketing and consumer communication.
10. Write, submit, track, and execute grant applications, awards, and programs; identify and assess tourism marketing grant opportunities at the state and federal level.
11. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Experience and Training Guidelines
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
Three (3) years of increasingly responsible marketing, communications, or public relations experience; previous experience working for a destination marketing organization is preferred.
Training:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
License or Certificate
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver’s license.
