DEFINITION
Provide quality assurance feedback in conjunction with the policies and procedures of the Grand Junction Regional Communication Center; conduct care reviews of calls for each certified user to monitor compliance to the Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) protocols.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives general supervision from the Communications Center Training/QA Supervisor.
PRIMARY DUTIES--The following are examples of primary duties assigned to positions in this classification. Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Maintain knowledge of, and proficiency in, call taking and dispatch protocols.
2. Compile and report quality assurance/improvement performance scores to the Communication Center Manager.
3. Use data from call reviews to monitor the training program’s effectiveness as well as recommend and implement modifications as needed.
4. Assist with the coordination and delivery of all activities related to EMD training and certification of all call takers.
5. Assist with the development of curriculum for Continuing Dispatch Education, special and remedial classes, and other education classes based on trends discovered through the quality improvement process.
6. Test new software as it becomes available.
7. Recommend, create, implement and conduct training on new software.
8. Attend regular staff meetings to share and acquire information related to police, fire, and medical training needs and effectiveness.
9. Actively participate in a Quality Improvement Process, which may include supporting agency-specific performance improvement plans, documentation of performance/compliance concerns, and on-going or remedial training documentation.
10. Receive, investigate, and issue findings on any question and concerns submitted via a Field Feedback Form.
11. Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
EMD priority dispatching and dispatch protocols.
Call taking procedures.
Computer software such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and/or similar programs.
Ability to:
Achieve required certifications within 90 days of attaining the position.
Develop and maintain teamwork and promote positive morale.
Maintain applicable instructor certifications.
Operate call review software and recording software.
Speak, read, comprehend, and write the English language fluently.
Experience and Training Guidelines
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
Prior experience in public safety quality assurance is desired, but not required.
Training:
Bachelor's degree in EMS, Public Safety or Education preferred.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
License or Certificate
Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an IAED Quality Assurance Certification.
Possession or, or the ability to obtain, CPR Certification and CPR Instructor Certification.
Possession of, or the ability to obtain valid Colorado Driver’s License.
