DEFINITION

Evaluate information technology projects to support organization wide operations; provide leadership to drive and influence product strategy across engineering, design, integration, and distribution; lead product development teams; define and develop meaningful, measurable, and concise key performance indicators to determine effectiveness of organization information systems.

 

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED

 

Receives direction from the Chief Technology Officer.

 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES--The following are examples of primary duties assigned to positions in this classification. Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

 

1.  Evaluate information technology projects to support organization wide operations; lead vetting activities in the review and recommendation of new technologies; determine appropriateness of technologies to meet end user expectations; consult internal and external users on current organization capabilities to mitigate introduction of system redundancies.

 

2.  Provide leadership to drive and influence product strategy across engineering, design, integration, and distribution; create specification and requirement documents, including business process flows, user stories, and data flow diagrams to reflect the scope and complexities of the requested product features; develop product plans to re-design and re-invent aging technologies; solve problems and improve performance of organization information systems.

 

3.  Lead product development teams for timely implementation within set budgets; assign technical responsibilities for new technology projects; oversee progress and conduct technical reviews to ensure successful project completion; develop system design requirements, functional testing plans, and project schedules; maintain project documentation for historical reference and future planning.

 

4.  Consult internal and external customers regarding product features, limitations, and requested changes; act as the main point of contact for user feedback and requirement gathering; provide end user support and assist in training, debugging, and issue resolution.

 

5.  Define and implement product strategy based on a knowledge of customer needs, business goals, and technical feasibility; instruct new and existing users on the operation of various enterprise and department specific information systems, applications, and data; conduct user workshops, communicate improvements or deviations from current implementations to better meet end user expectations and organization needs.

 

6.  Define and develop meaningful, measurable, and concise key performance indicators to determine effectiveness of organization information systems; participate in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, and priorities for assigned programs; recommend improvements and modifications.

 

7.  Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.

Experience and Training Guidelines

Minimum Requirements:

 

 Experience:

 

 Four (4) years of information technology experience in a variety of IT functions as related to the described  duties.

 

 Training:

 

 Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in information technology, computer science or a related field.

 

Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

 

License or Certificate:

 

Possession of, or ability to obtain, PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) Certification or similar within 6 months of hire.

 

Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver’s license.
