DEFINITION
Support the operations of the municipal court services and parking including administrative, financial, and clerical functions; direct court proceedings and enforcement procedures; provide assistance and information to the general public; and perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives direction from the Court Administrator.
PRIMARY DUTIES--The following are examples of primary duties assigned to positions in this classification. Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Respond to general and specific inquiries from customers regarding ordinance, regulations, policies, and procedures pertinent to area of assignment; research and respond to inquiries; direct customers to appropriate City divisions/departments.
2. Provide customer service in the areas of municipal court services and parking; process tickets and payments; coordinate court appearances and track deadlines for completion of community service or court-ordered classes.
3. Maintain scheduling and administrative documentation related to municipal court; schedule conferences and court dockets; prepare various documents including warrants, and community service orders; monitor and track payments scheduled for restitution or fines; document and track court orders.
4. Provide case management for a variety of municipal court functions; coordinate with other staff and outside agencies; coordinate video arraignment; assist Municipal Judge in the proceedings of the Court.
5. Prepare and process a wide variety of legal documents and forms issued by the Court including warrants, subpoenas, summons, holds, and other necessary documents; recommend revisions to forms and documents as needed; generate and modify report documents; retrieve various levels of information using assigned software systems.
6. Performs duties and responsibilities of the Court Administrator as needed and serves as the full-time lead Court Clerk.
7. Perform other duties of a similar nature or level.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Operations, services and activities of municipal court services and parking.
Court procedures and processes.
Customer service principles and problem resolution techniques.
Principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting.
Principles used in administrative accounting and bookkeeping work.
General mathematics including addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication.
Modern office technology and equipment, including computers and related software applications.
Business correspondence and basic report preparation.
Applicable Federal, State and local codes, laws and regulations.
Ability to:
Perform the full range of duties in assigned area.
Respond to requests and inquiries from the general public and City employees.
Accurately count, record and balance assigned transactions.
Comply with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards for handling and securing payment card information.
Apply bookkeeping and financial record-keeping principles to the maintenance of financial and accounting records.
Establish and maintain accurate records, logs, and files.
Operate and use modern office equipment including computer and various software applications.
Interpret and apply pertinent ordinances, laws, codes, regulations, policies and procedures.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Identify and provide solutions to operational and procedural problems.
Speak, read, comprehend, and write the English language fluently.
Experience and Training Guidelines
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
Three (3) years of administrative support experience specifically in court, judicial and/or law enforcement or related field.
Training:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
License or Certificate
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver's license.
