DEFINITION
Oversee and coordinate the golf operations of the Pro Shop; assign and review the work of staff responsible for providing golf services; assist with the coordination of programs and activities of Tiara Rado and Lincoln Park Golf Courses and perform the more technical and complex tasks relative to the assigned areas of responsibility.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
Receives direction from the Director of Golf and the Chief Financial Officer.
Exercises technical and functional supervision over assigned areas and staff.
PRIMARY DUTIES--The following are examples of primary duties assigned to positions in this classification. Other related duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
1. Perform lead worker functions of staff including assigning and reviewing daily work, providing training, and acting as a resource to other staff.
2. Conduct daily operations of Tiara Rado and Lincoln Park Golf Course pro shop(s) including supervision of staff; oversee and participate in performing opening and closing procedures, collection of greens fees and passes, golf cart rentals, driving range operations, and sales of pro shop merchandise; ensure proper tee time management and adequate staff coverage.
3. Participate in the training of pro shop employees; monitor the work of assigned staff for customer service delivery, accuracy, and proper work methods; ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
4. Promote golf course services; organize tournaments and special events; coordinate tournament details including pairings for tournament starting, rules and scoring, and prize presentation.
5. Provide information and assistance to the public; answer questions regarding the use of golf facilities; assist customers with sales of pro shop merchandise; investigate customer complaints, take and/or recommend corrective action as necessary to resolve complaints.
6. Assist with routine equipment maintenance including, but not limited to, the sharpening of mower reels and blades; rebuilding mower sets with new bearings, establishing the height of cut; overall general maintenance of the mower fleet; supervising the fast-track organizational program in conjunction with Fleet maintenance; and other duties of a similar nature or level.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Golf shop organization and management of golf shop operations.
Operational characteristics, services, and activities of golf course grounds operations.
Principles and practices of cash handling and internal control.
Principles and practices of tournament preparation including pairing and golf handicap programs.
Golf products, merchandise marketing, and inventory methods.
Modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment.
Principles of overall mower fleet management and maintenance.
Ability to:
Lead, monitor, train, and review staff and technical work.
Operate and use modern office equipment including a computer and related software programs.
Maintain accurate records and prepare clear and concise reports.
Respond to requests and inquiries from the public.
Recommend and implement goals and objectives for providing golf services.
Use and operate hand and power tools, vehicular and stationary mechanical equipment, and other required equipment.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Comply with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards for handling and securing payment card information.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Interpret and explain City policies and procedures related to various assigned functions.
Experience and Training Guidelines
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
Two (2) years of increasingly responsible, professional experience in golf shop operations and one year of increasingly responsible, professional experience in golf course fleet maintenance.
Training:
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
License or Certificate
Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Colorado driver’s license.
