PEOPLE'S ORDINANCE NO. 12

 

 AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING THE VACATING OF THAT CERTAIN ALLEY RUNNING NORTH AND SOUTH IN BLOCK 9 OF RICHARD D. MOBLEY'S FIRST SUBDIVISION TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION AND IN BOWER'S SUBDIVISION OF LOT 3 IN BLOCK 9 OF RICHARD D. MOBLEY'S FIRST SUBDIVISION TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION.

 

 WHEREAS that certain alley, running north and south bounded on the south by the north line of Colorado Avenue; bounded on the west by the east line of lot 34 in Bower's Subdivision of lot 3 of block 9 of Richard D. Mobley's First Subdivision to the City of Grand Junction; bounded on the north by the south line of the alley running East and West in Block 9 of Richard D. Mobley's First Subdivision to the City of Grand Junction and Bower's Subdivision of Lot 3 in Block 9 of Richard D. Mobley's First Subdivision to the City of Grand Junction; and bounded on the east by the west line of Lots 1 and 2 of Block 9 of Richard D. Mobley's First Subdivision to the City of Grand Junction, is unnecessary, unsightly and an expense to the City, and should never have been established or accepted by the City.

 

 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, AND BE IT ORDAINED BY THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, UPON REFERENDUM BY THE CITY COUNCIL THEREOF:

 

 SECTION 1. That said alley, bounded and described as follows, to-wit: bounded on the South by the north line of Colorado Avenue; bounded on the west by the east line of Lot 34 of Bower's Subdivision of Lot 3 of Block 9 of Richard D. Mobley's First Subdivision to the City of Grand Junction; bounded on the north by the south line of the alley running East and West in Block 9 of Richard D. Mobley's First Sub-division to the City of Grand Junction and Bower's Subdivision of Lot 3 in Block 9 of Richard D. Mobley's First Subdivision to the City of Grand Junction; bounded on the east by the west line of Lots 1 and 2 of Block 9 of Richard D. Mobley's First Subdivision to the City of Grand Junction, be and the same is hereby vacated, and the President of the City Council and the City Clerk of the City of Grand Junction, be and they are hereby authorized and instructed to convey the interest of the City therein to the owners of the abutting lots or parts of lots, each abutting owner taking to the center of said alley.

 We do hereby certify that at a meeting of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction held on the 26th day of December the above and foregoing ordinance was introduced read and ordered published and submitted to a vote of the qualified electors of said city on December 22, 1922.

 

 That at said election, the said ordinance was submitted to a vote of the qualified electors at which time the majority of the votes of said electors voting on said question were cast in favor of the adoption of said ordinance and said ordinance was thereby duly and regularly adopted.

 

 Thereafter the said ordinance was ordered recorded and numbered People's Ordinance No. 12, and was ordered published in the Daily Sentinel of said city, in witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and affixed the official seal of the city this 26th day of December A. D. 1922.
