PEOPLE'S ORDINANCE NO. 14

 

 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION TO SELL CERTAIN LOTS IN THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, BELONGING TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

 WHEREAS, the City of Grand Junction owns the following described Lots situate in the City of Grand Junction, Mesa County, Colorado, to-wit: Lots One, Two, Three and Four in Block Sixty-eight; Lot one in Block One Hundred Thirty; and Lot Seventeen in Block Fifty-two; and

 

 WHEREAS, said Lots are so situated that same are of no benefit to said City, and the City is unable to derive any income therefrom; and

 

 WHEREAS, said Lots are desirable for residential purposes, and if so improved would add to the attractiveness of said City.

 

 THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION AND BE IT ORDAINED BY THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE SAID CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, UPON REFERENDUM BY THE CITY COUNCIL THEREOF:

 

 SECTION 1. That the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, be and it is hereby directed and authorized to sell all the right, title and interest of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, in and to the following described Lots, situate in the City of Grand Junction, Mesa County, State of Colorado, belonging to the City of Grand Junction, to-wit: Lots One, Two, Three and Four in Block Sixty-eight; and Lot One in Block One Hundred Thirty; and Lot Seventeen in Block Fifty-two, at public auction to the highest bidder for cash.

 

 SECTION 2. That the City Council of the City of Grand Junction by its President and City Clerk, under the seal of said City, are hereby authorized and directed to convey by good and sufficient Deeds of Conveyance to the purchaser or purchasers of said Lots, all the right, title and interest of the City of Grand Junction in and to said Lots.

 

 WE DO HEREBY CERTIFY, that at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, held May 7th, A. D. 1924, the above and foregoing ordinance was introduced, read and ordered published and submitted to the vote of the qualified electors of said City of Grand Junction at a special municipal election to be held in said City on June 3rd A. D. 1924.

 

 That at said election the said ordinance was submitted to a vote of the qualified electors, at which time the majority of the votes of said electors voting on said question were cast in favor of the adoption of said ordinance and said ordinance was thereby duly and regularly adopted.

 

 Thereafter the said ordinance was ordered recorded and numbered "Peoples Ordinance No. 14" and was ordered published in the Daily Sentinel of said City.

 

 IN WITNESS WHEREOF we have hereunto set our hands and affixed the official seal of the said City this 4th day of June, A. D. 1924.
