PEOPLE'S ORDINANCE NO. 30
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 59 OF THE 1953 COMPILED ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, AND MAKING IT UNLAWFUL FOR ANY PERSON OWNING OR POSSESSING A DOG TO PERMIT IT TO BE AT LARGE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:
Section 1. It shall be unlawful for any person owning or possessing a dog to permit it to be at large within the limits of the City of Grand Junction from May 1st to October 1st of each year, and during such periods every person owning or having a dog shall confine it to his or her premises when not on leash and under the immediate control of a competent and responsible attendant. The head of any household having a dog in its possession shall be presumed to be the owner or possessor of such dog.
Section 2. Any violation of the preceding section shall be punished by fine of not less than $1.00 nor more than $300.00. Each day any violation continues shall constitute a separate offense. Section 1 hereof shall be designated as Section 11 of Chapter 59, of the 1953 Compiled Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado.
Section 3. Dogs being or running at large shall be impounded, reclaimed and disposed of in such manner and upon such terms, conditions and provisions as may be prescribed by ordinance adopted by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado.

WE HEREBY CERTIFY That at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, held March 6th, 1956, the above and foregoing ordinance was introduced, read and ordered published and submitted to a vote of the qualified electors of said City for adoption or rejection at a special municipal election to be held on April 17th, 1956. Pursuant thereto said ordinance was duly and regularly published on March 14th, 1956, in The Daily Sentinel of said City, a daily newspaper of general circulation printed and published in said City, and in further pursuance thereof and in accordance with the law in such cases made and provided, said Ordinance was duly and regularly submitted to a vote of said qualified electors in said City on the 17th day of April, 1956, at which election a majority of the votes of said electors voting on said question were cast in favor of the adoption of said ordinance and said ordinance was thereby duly and regularly adopted.
Thereafter at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, held on April 18, 1956, pursuant to the Charter of said City, said Ordinance was passed and adopted and was ordered recorded and numbered People's Ordinance No. 30, and was ordered published in The Daily Sentinel of said City.

Thereafter at a regular adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, held on October 19th, 1956, pursuant to the Charter of said City, said Ordinance was passed and adopted and was ordered recorded and numbered People's Ordinance No. 30, and was ordered published in The Daily Sentinel of said City.
