RESOLUTION NO. 5-93

A RESOLUTION FORMING A COMMITTEE TO FORM A PLAN

FOR

SOUTH DOWNTOWN/ RIVERSIDE/ EL POSO AREA

WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable to identify and address certain issues of importance to the South Downtown/Riverside/El Poso area; and

WHEREAS, a planning process for the South Downtown/Riverside/El Poso area has been initiated in the form of public meetings to receive input on issues and possible goals for the area; and

WHEREAS, the City Council finds it desirable to form a steering committee for the South Downtown/Riverside/El Poso planning process;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, By the City Council of City of Grand Junction:

That the South Downtown/Riverside/El Poso Plan Steering Committee is hereby created;

The general charge of said steering committee is to formulate a plan for the South Downtown/Riverside/El Poso areas, and more

specifically, to:

a. solicit and receive input on issues, goals and alternatives;

b. identify and consider goals, alternatives and implementation steps;

c. give direction to City staff in plan preparation; and

d. recommend the proposed plan to the City Planning Commission and the City Council for adoption.

FURTHERMORE, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, THAT the following persons are hereby appointed to serve on said steering committee:

 South City Neighborhood Representative: Joe Chavez  Riverside Neighborhood Representative: Cindy Enos-Martinez  El Poso Neighborhood Representative: Frank MalDonado

 City At Large Representative: Robert Bray

 Mesa County Economic Development Council Representative: Ronald Kraft

 Grand Junction Parks and Recreation Board Representative:

          Frank Dunn

 Riverfront Commission Representative: Ken Nesbitt

 Large Business Representative: James McConnell

 Small Business Representative: Phyllis Bollan

Passed and Adopted this 20th day of January, 1993.
