RESOLUTION NO. 8-93

 

 CONCERNING THE APPROPRIATION OF

 ADDITIONAL WATER FOR SOMERVILLE RESERVOIR

 

 WHEREAS, the City of Grand Junction owns Somerville Reservoir and the water rights decreed to it; and

 

 WHEREAS, when 70.8 A.F. of the water right decreed to the Cliff Lake Reservoir was transferred to Somerville Reservoir, the City compromised and settled statements of opposition filed by William D. Loring, Janet S. Loring, Joseph A. Lumbardy and Mozelle E. Lumbardy by agreeing to appropriate a new storage right of 66 A.F., for use pursuant to the terms of the judgment and decree entered by the District Court for Division 4 in Case No. 91CW10.

 

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 The City intends to appropriate 66 A.F. of additional water for Somerville Reservoir for the purposes set forth in the Judgment and Decree entered in Case No. 91CW10, and the City's Utilities Manager and counsel are directed to file an appropriate application and take such steps as may be required to secure an appropriate decree.
