CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO

 Resolution No. 100-93

 ACCEPTING A CONTRACT WITH THE STATE OF COLORADO

 FOR COLORADO GREENWAYS-STATE TRAILS GRANT

 WHEREAS, the City of Grand Junction has worked cooperatively with the Grand Junction/Mesa County Riverfront Commission and Colorado Riverfront Foundation to secure funding for the Blue Heron, Phase II section of the Colorado River Trail; and

 WHEREAS, the State of Colorado Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation has approved a $10,000 State Trails grant to the City of Grand Junction for a portion of that trail section; and

 WHEREAS, funding for the remainder of the Blue Heron, Phase II Trail has been secured through a variety of sources including Land and Water Conservation Funds, County lottery funds, City funds, foundation grants, private donations and fund raising activities of the Colorado Riverfront Foundation.

 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 That the contract with the State of Colorado, Department of Natural Resources, Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation for the Colorado Greenways-State Trails Grant in the amount of $10,000 for the Blue Heron, Phase II Trail project is hereby approved.
