 RESOLUTION NO. 50-93

 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION CONCERNING

 THE SALE AND EXPORTATION OF FOSSIL REMAINS

Recitals.

 A certain Utah company has sold and exported local dinosaur remains.

 The City of Grand Junction, Colorado has a strong interest in preserving fossil remains within the local scientific community.

 The City of Grand Junction is opposed to vertebrate fossil remains being sold and exported for commercial benefit.

 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Grand Junction that the State of Utah is urged to take whatever steps are necessary to preserve fossil remains within the scientific community, rather than allowing the exportation of such remains for commercial benefit.

 Read and adopted this 4th day of August, 1993.
