RESOLUTION NO. 81-93

ENDORSING EFFORTS OF THE DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TO      REDEVELOP THE 200 BLOCK ON MAIN STREET

WHEREAS, the DDA was created to promote the revitalization of downtown Grand Junction; and

WHEREAS, the downtown tax increment district was created to help finance that revitalization; and

WHEREAS, difficulty in assembling lots on Main Street has been an impediment to redevelopment; and

WHEREAS, the DDA has used tax increment funds to assemble an attractive site for redevelopment in the 200 block on Main Street; and

WHEREAS, the Grand Junction City Council desires to support the DDA's effort to attract a significant development to this block.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

The Downtown Development Authority is encouraged to use the parcels it has assembled, plus two adjacent City owned lots, to attract development in the 200 block of Main Street. The City agrees to further assist such a project by making appropriate utility undergrounding funds available and to consider appropriate alley vacations. The City Council anticipates this will be the full extent of its inducements to attract a development to this site.

PASSED and ADOPTED this 17th day of November, 1993.
