RESOLUTION NO. 45-95

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN

TWO CONTRACTS WITH GREAT OUTDOORS COLORADO (GOCO)

FOR THE BLUE HERON, PHASE II TRAIL, AND COLUMBINE

PARK PAYGROUND EQUIPMENT AND SAFETY SURFACE INSTALLATION

Recitals.

The City of Grand Junction applied for and was awarded two Great Outdoors Colorado ("GOCO") grants: $50,000 for the construction of Blue Heron Phase II Trail and $35,000 for the installation of the City's Columbine Park playground equipment and safety surface.

City Council has, by adoption of the 1995 budget, previously approved the receipt of the $50,000 for the trail construction.

The $35,000 grant has not yet been approved by Council as a part of the budget or appropriation process; Parks staff recommends that said sum be aggregated with $26,000 (which has been budgeted for) to replace the Columbine Park playground equipment.

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

The City Manager is authorized to execute the contracts to complete the grant acceptance process and to receive the funds.

PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of April, 1995.

             /s/ R.T. Mantlo

             President of the Council

ATTEST:
