CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO

 RESOLUTION NO. 54-95

 A RESOLUTION ENDORSING COUNCILMEMBER REFORD C. THEOBOLD

 AS A CANDIDATE FOR THE NLC BOARD OF DIRECTORS

AND DIRECTING THAT A LETTER OF ENDORSEMENT BE

SENT TO NLC ON THE CITY COUNCIL'S BEHALF

 WHEREAS, Reford C. Theobold is serving his fourth term on the City Council for the City of Grand Junction; and

 WHEREAS, Councilmember Reford C. Theobold has served on the Colorado Municipal League's Executive Board since 1987; and

 WHEREAS, Councilmember Theobold has served on several committees of the National League of Cities including the Fi­nance/Intergov­ernmental Relations Committee, the Transporta­tion/Communications Policy Committee and the Program Committee; and

 WHEREAS, Councilmember Theobold is currently serving as Vice-Chair of the Leadership Institute; and

 WHEREAS, Councilmember Theobold was appointed by the Secretary of Transportation to represent the National League of Cities on the Alliance for Uniform Hazardous Materials Transportation Working Group; and

 WHEREAS, Councilmember Theobold has represented the City of Grand Junction in an exemplary manner and has served the City of Grand Junction well in that representation.

 NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION THAT:

 1) Reford C. Theobold be endorsed as a candidate for the National League of Cities' Board of Directors, the election to be held in December, 1995; and

 2) City Staff be directed to forward a letter of endorsement to the Nominating Committee for NLC on behalf of the City Council.
