RESOLUTION NO. 50-96

A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING FEES FOR PERMITS FOR WORK IN PUBLIC RIGHTS OF WAY AND ESTABLISHING RIGHTS OF WAY INSPECTION AND TESTING FEES

Recitals.

Under the provisions of 32-8, 32-34, 38-166 and 38-169 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Grand Junction, the City Council shall establish by resolution fees for permit(s) to perform certain kinds or construction and work within the rights of way. In addition, the City Council shall establish an hourly fee for inspection and testing of work performed by permittees in order to partially reimburse the city for the attendant costs..

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

The fee for each and every work permit issued in accordance with 32-8, 32-34 and 38-166 of the Code of Ordinances shall be $60.00. For work requiring trench excavation, the permit fee shall be increased by $.10 per each linear foot of trench over 100 feet.

The permit fee established by this resolution includes the cost of inspection but excludes the costs associated with testing as required by 38-169 of the Code of Ordinances. Testing shall be performed as indicated on the permit or as otherwise required by the Director of Public Works and Utilities or his designee. All required testing shall be conducted by a certified independent laboratory at the sole and absolute expense of the permittee.
