RESOLUTION NO. 53-96

 

 

 

Authorizing the placement of a historic marker commemorating the Old Spanish Trail in Eagle Rim Park by the Daughters of the American Revolution and endorsement of their efforts to achieve national trail recognition.

 

WHEREAS, the City of Grand Junction City Council recognizes the historic significance of the Old Spanish Trail; and

 

WHEREAS, the Daughters of the American Revolution desire to commemorate the Old Spanish Trail by placing a marker noting the trail and its crossing of the Colorado River; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Council endorses the efforts of the Daughters of the American revolution to achieve national trail designation.

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

That the Daughters of the American Revolution are granted permission to place a historical marker commemorating the Old Spanish Trail in Eagle Rim Park and that the placement be coordinated with the construction of the Colorado River pedestrian bridge and the development of Eagle Rim Park.
