A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE COUNTY OF MESA AND THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION CONCERNING ADOPTION OF TWO ADMINISTRATIVE AMENDMENTS TO THE FISCAL YEARS 1995-2000 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PLAN
WHEREAS, The City and County have been designated by the Governor as the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Grand Junction /Mesa County Urbanized Area; and
WHEREAS, Part 2 of Article 1 of Title 29, Colorado Revised Statutes authorizes the parties to contract with one another to make the most efficient and effective use of their powers and responsibilities; and
WHEREAS, The City and County realize the importance of both short and long range planning in the development of an efficient transportation system, and are both aware that it is the responsibility of the Metropolitan Planning Organization to perform those planning functions; and
WHEREAS, The City and County, in their performance of those planning functions for the Urbanized Area, wish to use Federal Highway Administration transportation planning funds in coordination with the Colorado Department of Transportation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT JOINTLY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF MESA, COLORADO AND THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:
That the Administrative Amendments to the Fiscal Years 1995-2000 Transportation Improvement Plan shall be as such:

1. The 5th Street Viaduct (Highway 50) will receive $265,000 in preliminary engineering funds for FY96 from the statewide bridge pool (100% CDOT funded).The preliminary engineering funds of $265,000 added to begin the project in FY96 as shown in the Grand Junction/Mesa County Metropolitan Planning Organization FY 1995-2000 Transportation Improvement Plan:

2. The Major Widening of Highway 50 southeast from Grand Junction to Delta also needs to be amended to show preliminary engineering money to start that project in FY96 by adding $100,000 to the total amount (also 100% CDOT funded). The preliminary engineering funds of $100,000 added to begin the project in FY96 as shown in the Grand Junction/Mesa County Metropolitan Planning Organization FY 1995-2000 Transportation Improvement Plan:

The Administrative Amendments to the Fiscal Years 1995-2000 Transportation Improvement Plan are hereby adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Mesa, Colorado on August 5, 1996, and by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado on July 17, 1996.
