RESOLUTION NO. 78-96
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING A GRANT FOR FEDERAL-AID FUNDS FROM THE INTERMODAL SURFACE TRANSPORTATION EFFICIENCY ACT OF 1991 FOR THE PROJECT IDENTIFIED AS STM M555-007, 11447, CONSTRUCTION OF A STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM AND RELOCATION OF CITY WATER LINES IN UNAWEEP AVENUE
RECITALS:
Whereas, The City of Grand Junction supports the completion of the reconstruction of Unaweep Avenue from State Highway 50, east to approximately 28.5 Road.
Whereas, the City of Grand Junction has the opportunity to utilize Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act (ISTEA) funds to assist in the financing of the project.
Whereas, The State of Colorado, Colorado Department of Transportation requires a City resolution to accept the ISTEA funds and enter into a contract for the completion of the project.
Whereas, the cost of the materials and construction of the drainage system and waterline relocations are to be funded as follows:
a. Federal participating funds (80% of $1,036,000.00) $ 828,800
b. Local Agency Share (City of Grand Junction) $ 207,200
TOTAL PROJECT FUNDS $1,036,000
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: The City Council of the City of Grand Junction hereby authorizes the City Manager to execute the contracts with the State of Colorado, Department of Transportation to participate in a Federally funded project to construct a storm drainage system and relocate City water lines along a 2.25 mile section of Unaweep Avenue from the junction of 28 ½ Road to the junction of U.S. Highway 50.
Section 2: The City Council of the City of Grand Junction hereby authorizes the expenditure of funds as necessary to meet the terms and obligations of the contract.
Section 3: This resolution is to be in full force and effect from and after passage and approval.
