RESOLUTION NO. 40-97

Authorizing the use of Public Service Company undergrounding funds for the North First Street Project from Orchard Avenue to Patterson Road.

WHEREAS, the City of Grand Junction City Council has scheduled the reconstruction of North First Street from Orchard Avenue to Patterson Road in 1997 and there exists overhead power facilities along the corridor; and

WHEREAS, the City Council believes the undergrounding of these existing power lines is necessary for the overall upgrade of the North First Street corridor; and

WHEREAS, the North First Street project is within city limits; and

WHEREAS, under the Public Service franchise, funds are allotted for such purposes.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

That the use of undergrounding funds to underground utilities along North First Street from Orchard Avenue to Patterson Road is hereby approved for such amounts as the City Manager may designate.
