RESOLUTION NO. 18-98
A RESOLUTION DELEGATING TO THE CITY CLERK THE AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITY TO APPOINT JUDGES OF ELECTION
FOR THE APRIL 7, 1998 SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
WHEREAS, the Municipal Election Code provides that "At least fifteen days before each municipal election the governing body shall appoint the judges of election"; and
WHEREAS, the Municipal Election Code also provides that “The governing body may by resolution delegate to the clerk the authority and responsibility to appoint judges of election.” (C.R.S. §31-10-401)
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO THAT:
The City Clerk is hereby given the authority and the responsibility for appointing election judges for the April 7, 1998 Special Municipal Election.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:
1. That each Judge of Election serving on the day of election be compensated for his/her time by the payment of sixty dollars ($60.00), Supply Judges to be compensated by an additional five ($5.00) each.
2. That each Absentee Judge of election on the day of election be compensated for his/her time by the payment of fifteen dollars ($15.00).
