RESOLUTION NO. 77-99

 

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY OF COLORADO TO USE UNDERGROUND FUNDS TO UNDERGROUND POWER FACILITIES ALONG THE 27½ ROAD CORRIDOR FROM PATTERSON ROAD TO A POINT 500 FEET NORTH OF CORTLAND AVENUE IN THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION.

 

Recitals: Public Service Company of Colorado has a franchise agreement to provide electrical service within the corporate boundary of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado.

 

As a part of the franchise agreement, Public Service Company of Colorado collects a 1% fee on electrical service to be used for the undergrounding of electrical facilities in the public rights of way.

 

The 27½ Road corridor between Patterson Road and a point 500 feet north of Cortland Avenue is a public street within the City of Grand Junction which contains power/electrical utilities.

 

The City of Grand Junction as part of its 27½ Road reconstruction desires to relocate the electrical facilities underground.

 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

That Public Service Company of Grand Junction be authorized to use funds from the 1% undergrounding fund (estimated $338,850.00) for the purpose of placing the electric facilities underground along the 27½ Road corridor from Patterson Road to a point 500 feet north of Cortland Avenue in the City of Grand Junction, Colorado.
