RESOLUTION NO. 40-03

STATEMENT OF INTENT FOR THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION TO BID THE CONSTRUCTION OF CAPITAL CONSTRUCTION WITHIN THE DEPARTMENTS OF PUBLIC WORKS & UTILTIES, AND PARKS & RECREATION.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

The vast majority of capital construction with the departments of Public Works & Utilities and Parks & Recreation is to be competitively bid. It is the primary purpose of those departments to perform operational, maintenance and emergency services rather than performing in-house capital construction. It may be appropriate for those departments to perform in-house capital construction after a careful review of the alternatives and it is deemed to be in the best interest of the citizens of Grand Junction.
