RESOLUTION

A JOINT RESOLUTION OF THE COUNTY OF MESA AND THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION CONCERNING ADOPTION OF AN ADMINISTRATIVE AMENDMENT TO THE FISCAL YEARS 1995-2000 TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PLAN

 

 WHEREAS, The City and County have been designated by the Governor

  as the Metropolitan Planning Organization for the Grand

  Junction/Mesa County Urbanized Area; and

 

 WHEREAS, Part 2 of Article 1 of Title 29, Colorado Revised

  Statutes authorizes the parties to contract with one

  another to make the most efficient and effective use of

  their powers and responsibilities; and

 

 WHEREAS, The City and County realize the importance of both short

  and long range planning in the development of an

  efficient transportation system, and are both aware that

  it is the responsibility of the Metropolitan Planning

  Organization to perform those planning functions; and

 

 WHEREAS, The City and County, in their performance of those

  planning functions for the Urbanized Area, wish to use

  Federal Highway Administration transportation planning

  funds in coordination with the Colorado Department of

  Transportation;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT JOINTLY RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY

COMMISSIONERS OF THE COUNTY OF MESA, COLORADO AND THE CITY COUNCIL

OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

That the Administrative Amendment to the Fiscal Years 1995-2000 Transportation Improvement Plan, hereunto attached, is adopted by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Mesa, Colorado on March 4, 1996, and by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado on March 20, 1996.

RE:    Administrative Amendments to the Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP)

 

The following proposed amendments to the TIP are recommended for approval. These amendments are required to address recent developments in the affected projects.

 

1. The lighting of North Avenue was not completed during 1995 as programmed.

 

2. The lighting of North Avenue needs to be re-programmed to 1996.

 

3. The Clifton Overpass Replacement project needs to be amended to show preliminary engineering money to start project in FY96 and adding $250,000 to the total amount.

 

4. The Mesa County Transportation Development Plan (TDP) will be funded with FTA Section 9 funds rather than FTA Section 8 funds, as originally documented.
