ORDINANCE NO. 235.

 

AN ORDINANCE CONCERNING INTEREST ON WARRANTS.

 

Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:

 

Section 1. Whenever there shall be outstanding unpaid registered warrants of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, on which interest shall be unpaid for six months or more, the City Treasurer shall, when there are funds in the treasury available for such purpose, pay to the owners of such warrants the earned interest thereon up to the first day of Januaryv or July last preceding such payment.

 

Section 2. The City Treasurer shall give notice to the owners of such warrants of such payment in the same manner as notice is given by law of the payment of City warrants.

 

Section 3. When such payment is made, the amount, the date of payment and the date to which interest is paid, shall be endorsed on each such warrant and signed by the owner thereof or his duly authorized agent, and a receipt showing the number of the warrant, amount of interest paid, date of payment and the date to which interest is paid, shall be given by the warrant owner or his duly authorized agent to the City Treasurer.

 

Passed and adopted this 9th day of February, A. D. 1915.

I HEREBY CERTIFY, that the foregoing ordinance, entitled "An Ordinance Concerning Interest on Warrants," was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, held on the 26th day of January, A. D. 1915, and that the same was published in full in The Daily Sentinel, a daily newspaper published and in general circulation in said city, at least ten days before its passage.
