ORDINANCE NO. 249.

 

AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING NEW NAMES FOR THE SEVERAL PARKS BELONGING TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION.

 

Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:

 

Section 1. That the block or tract of land now designated on the official map of the city as "Maple Park," and bounded on the north by Ute avenue, on the east by Fifth street, on the south by Pitkin avenue, and on the west by Fourth street, is hereby named and shall hereafter be known as Whitman Park.

 

Sec. 2. That the block or tract of land now designated on the official map of the city as "Cottonwood Park," and bounded on the north by Ute avenue, on the east by Tenth street, on the south by Pitkin avenue, and on the west by Ninth street, is hereby named and shall hereafter be known as Emerson Park.

 

Sec. 3. That the block or tract of land now designated on the official map of the city as "Walnut Park," and bounded on the north by Hill avenue, on the east by Fifth street, on the south by Gunnison avenue, and on the west by Fourth street, is hereby named and shall hereafter be known as Hawthorne Park.

 

Sec. 4. That the block or tract of land now designated on the official map of the city as "Chestnut Park," and bounded on the north by Hill avenue, on the east by Tenth street, on the south by Gunnison avenue, and on the west by Ninth street, is hereby named and shall hereafter be known as Washington Park.

 

Passed and adopted this 23d day of May, A. D. 1916.

I HEREBY CERTIFY, that the foregoing ordinance, entitled "An Ordinance Establishing New Names for the Several Parks belonging to the City of Grand Junction," was introduced and read at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, held on the 9th day of May, A. D. 1916, and that the same was published in full in the Daily Sentinel, a daily newspaper published and in general circulation in said city, at least ten days before its passage.
