ORDINANCE NO. 253.

 

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE CITY WATER WORKS.

 

WHEREAS, the amount of money heretofore appropriated to maintain the city water works for the fiscal vear of 1916, because of the unexpected and unusual breaking of water mains land the high cost of pipe for replacement, has been expended and no funds are available to maintain the city water works for the balance of the year 1916; therefore, an unforeseen contingency has arisen, making it necessary to pass an emergency ordinance to appropriate money to maintain the water works of the City of Grand Junction for the balance of the year 1916; therefore

 

Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:

 

Section 1. That there be and hereby is appropriated for the purpose of defraying the necessary expenses of the city water works for the remainder of the present fiscal year ending December 31, 1916, the sum of $1,700.00.

 

Section 2. This ordinance is passed because of a special emergency for the preservation of the public health, and shall go into effect upon its passage.

 

Passed and adopted this 6th day of September, A. D. 1916.
