ORDINANCE NO. 277.
________
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE SEWER DEPARTMENT FOR THE ENLARGEMENT OF OUTLETS OF SEWER DISTRICTS NUMBERS ONE AND TWO.
WHEREAS, the amount heretofore appropriated for the maintenance and repair of the city sewers for the fiscal year of 1919 is insufficient because of the unusual and extraordinary trouble that has arisen during the past winter because of the sewer and sewer outlets in Sewer Districts Nos. 1 and 2 having been overloaded and having caused a number of cellars to be flooded, thus necessitating an enlargement of the outlets of said sewer systems, which will necessitate an expense of about eight hundred ($800.00) dollars.
THEREFORE, Be it Ordained by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:
Section 1. That there be and hereby is appropriated for the purpose of defraying the expense of enlarging the outlets capacity of Sewer Districts Nos. 1 and 2 of Grand Junction, Colorado, the sum of eight hundred ($800.00) dollars, to be appropriated for the Sewer Fund.
Section 2. This ordinance is passed because of a special emergency arising from an unforeseen contingency, and shall take effect on passage and publication.
Passed and adopted this 4th day of March, A. D. 1919.
/s/ Chas E. Cherrington
Mayor.
Attest:
