ORDINANCE NO. 293
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN EMERGENCY APPROPIATION FOR THE GENERAL FUND AND FOR THE CARE AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PUBLIC PARKS.

Whereas, since the adoption of the approprition ordinance for the fiscal year of 1920, an unforseen contingency has arisen because of the necessity for repairs, improvements and strengthening of certain buildings in Lincoln Park caused by holding therein in the autumn of 1920 of a county fair, the expense for which will, exceed the approprition heretofore made for the improvements and care of the public parks; and,
Whereas, since the adoption of the approprition ordinance for the fiscal year of 1920, an unforseen contingency has arisen because of the completion of the trade between the City of Grand Junction and the County of Mesa on the one hand and School District No. 1 on the other, of certain real property, by the terms of which the City must pay to the said school district the sum of $2,875.00 which sum exceeds the approprition heretofor made for the general fund for the fiscal year 1920.
Therefore, be it ordained by the City Council of the City Of Grand Junction, Colorado:
Section 1. That there be and hereby is appropiated, for the purpose of maintening, improving, and caring for the public parks for the remainder of the fiscal year of 1920, the sum of $2,500.00.
Section 2. That there be and hereby is appropriated, for the purpose of maintaining the general fund of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado for balance of the fiscal year of 1920, the sum of $2,875.00.
Passed and adopted this 14 day of September A. D. 1920.

I HEREBY CERTIFY, that the foregoing ordinance, entitled, "An Ordinance Providing for an Emergency Appropriation for the General Fund and for the Care and Improvement of the Public Parks", was introduced, read and ordered published atba regular meeting of thr City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, held on the 14th day of September A,D. 1920, and that the same was published in the Daily Sentinel, a daily newspaper published and in general circulation in said city, at least ten days before its passage.
