ORDINANCE NO. 303
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE CONCERNING SALARIES OF CERTAIN CITY OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES AND FIXING THE AMOUNT OF THE BOND TO BE GIVEN BY EACH OF SAID OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, by the adoption of the amendment to the City Charter, changing from Commission Form of Government to City Manager Form of Government, certain offices have been created, to-wit: City Manager, City Auditor and Ex-Officio City Clerk, City Treasurer and Judge of the Municipal Court, and
WHEREAS, no provisions have been made fixing the salaries of said officers are the amount of bonds of said officers, with the exception of the bond of the City Manager, and
WHEREAS, a special emergency exists and that for the preservation of the public peace and safety, it is necessary that bonds and salaries of said officers be fixed.
THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:
Section I. That the following named officers and employees of the City shall receive the following monthly salaries, payable at the close of each and every month, viz:
City Manager . . . . $350.00
City Auditor and Ex-Officio City Clerk . . . . 150.00
City Treasurer . . . . 20.00
Judge of the Municipal Court shall serve without compensation.
Section II. Each of said officers and employees shall give a bond to the City of Grand Junction, with sureties to be approved by the City Council, in the penal sums hereinafter named, conditioned that they will well and faithfully perform the duties of their respective offices and that they will pay over all monies and deliver all property in their custody belonging to the City. The bond of the City Manager shall be a Surety Company Bond and, in addition to the foregoing condition, shall be further conditioned upon the true, honest and faithful performance of the duties of his office.
The Penalties in the bonds required by this section shall be as follows:
City Manager . . . . $10,000.00
City Auditor and Ex-Officio City Clerk . . . . $5,000.00
City Treasurer . . . . 15,000.00
Judge of the Municipal Court . . . . 2,000.00
Section III. This ordinance is passed because of a special emergency for the preservation of the public peace and safety, and shall go into effect upon it's passage.
Passed and adopted this 3rd day of January A.D. 1922.
