ORDINANCE NO. 315

 

 

 AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 280, PASSED AND ADOPTED THE 22nd DAY OF APRIL, 1919, and ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE LICENSING OF SECOND HAND STORES."

 

 

 Be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction:

 

 

 Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 280, passed and adopted the 22nd day of April, 1919, and entitled "An Ordinance providing for the licensing of second hand stores", be, and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

 

 Section 2. Every person, firm or corporation licensed under this Ordinance, shall keep a book in the form prescribed by the Chief of Police of the City of Grand Junction, in which shall be plainly written in ink, at the time of each purchase, an accurate description in the English language of the goods, article or thing purchased, the date of the receipt of the same and the name, residence and description of the person selling the same, which book as well as the article purchased, shall at all times be open to the inspection of any member of the Police Department. Every person, firm or corporation licensed under this Ordinance shall make a weekly report in writing in the form prescribed by the Chief of Police of the City of Grand Junction, to the Chief of Police of said city, giving an accurate description of the goods, article or thing purchased or received, the date of the receipt of the same and the name, residence and description of the person selling the same.

 

 

 Section 2. This Ordinance is passed because of a special emergency for the preservation of the public peace and safety and shall go into effect upon its passage.
