 THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY IST A.D. 1923 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31st, A.D. 1923.

 

 

 BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:

 

 

 Section 1.

 Section 2. That for the purposes of defraying the necessary expenses and liabilities of the said City of Grand Junction, Colorado, for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, 1923 and ending December 31st, 1923, there shall be and hereby is levied and assessed upon all the taxable property situated within the corporate limits of the City of Grand Junction, both real and personal, the following amounts for special and general taxes, to-wit:

 

 

 First - For the purpose of defraying the expenses and maintenance of the Free Public Library, a tax of thirty-eight hundredths (.38) of one (1) mill on each dollar of said property so assessed or to be assessed.

 

 

 Second- For the Purpose of defraying the necessary expenses and liabilities of the said City of Grand Junction, and for the payment of interest on outstanding bonds and warrants and for the payment of a portion of the bonded indebtedness of said city, a tax of fourteen and sixty-two hundredths (14.62) mills on each dollar of said property so assessed or to be assessed.

 

 

 Section 3. By the reason of the fact that this ordinance must be in effect on January 1st, 1923, a special emergency is declared to exist, and the City Council finds and determines that this ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and that it shall take effect upon passage.
