ORDINANCE NO. 330
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, FOR STREET LIGHTING, FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT, FOR THE CONTINGENT FUND, AND FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF MOYER POOL.
WHEREAS, since the adoption of the appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31st, 1922, unforeseen contingencies have arisen because of the necessary additions to the police force, additional street lights, the buying of needed equipment for the Highway Department, the expense of a special election and the maintenance of the Moyer Pool.
THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:
Section 1. That there be and hereby is appropriated for the purpose of maintaining, the Police Department for the remainder of the fiscal year ending December 31st, 1922, the sum of $1,025.00.
Section 2. That there be and hereby is appropriated for the purpose of maintaining the street lights for the remainder of the fiscal year ending December 31st, 1922, the sum of $275.00.
Section 3. That there be and hereby is appropriated for the purpose of maintaining the streets and alleys for the remainder of the fiscal year ending December 31st, 1922, the sum of $200.00.
Section 4. That there be and hereby is appropriated for the purpose of paying for a special municipal election held December 22d, 1922, the sum of $150.00.
Section 5. That there be and hereby is appropriated for the purpose of maintaining and improving the Moyer Pool for the year 1922, the sum of $10,965.00.
By reason of the fact that the funds in the above named departments are exhausted and the work of the departments must be carried on, a special emergency is declared to exist, and the city council finds and determines that this ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and that it shall take effect upon passage.
Adopted and approved this 26th day of December A.D. 1922.
