ORDINANCE NO. 372
AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND FOR THE CONTINGENT FUND.
WHEREAS, since the adoption of the appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31st, 1924, unforeseen contingencies have arisen because of necessary additions to the Police force, the buying of needed equipment for the Fire Department and the payment of attorney fees from the Contingent Fund.
THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:
Section 1. That there be and is appropriated for the purpose of maintaining the Police Department for the fiscal year ending December 31st 1924, the additional sum of $500.00.
Section 2. That there be and is hereby appropriated for the purpose of maintaining the Fire Department for the fiscal year ending December 31st 1924, the additional sum of $150.00.
Section 3. That there be and is hereby appropriated for the Contingent Fund for the fiscal year ending December 31st 1924, the additional sum of $150.00.
By reason of the fact that the funds in the above named Funds are nearly exhausted and the work of the Departments must be carried on, a special emergency is declared to exist, and the City Council finds and determines that this Ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health or safety and that it shall take effect upon it's passage.
Adopted and approved this 29th day of December, A. D. 1924.
