THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1st A.D. 1925 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31st, A.D. 1925.

 

 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

 Section 1.

 

 First:- For interest and principal on General City Bonds . . . . $12,795.00

 

 Second:-For Community Service . . . . 2,869.00

 

 Third:-For the Contingent Fund . . . . 12,400.00

 

 Fourth:-For Maintaining the Fire Department . . . . 15,002.50

 

 Fifth:-For Maintaining and improving Health Conditions of the City . . . . 12,928.00

 

 Sixth:-For Maintaining and Improving Streets and Alleys . . . . 19,816.50

 

 Seventh:-For Maintenance Free Public Library . . . . 4,000.00

 

 Eighth:-For Lighting Streets and Alleys and Parks . . . . 14,803.00

 

 Ninth:-For the Maintenance and Operation of Moyer Pool . . . . 3,976.00

 

 Tenth:-For Salaries of Officers, Office Supplies, Printing, Fuel, Lights & Telephone . . . . 13,943.50

 

 Eleventh:-For Maintaining and Improving the Public Parks and Cemeteries . . . . 25,540.00

 

 Twelfth:-For Maintaining the Police Department . . . . 12,364.00

 

 Thirteenth:-For the Public Benefit, Donations etc . . . . 1,150.00

 

 Fourteenth:-For Maintaining the Sewers . . . . 1,722.50

 

 Fifteenth:-For Principal on Water Bonds . . . . 12,500.00

 

 Sixteenth:-For Maintaining, Operating and Extending the Water System . . . . 65,034.50

 

 Seventeenth:-For Principal and interest on Water bonds . . . . 36,965.50

 

 Section 2. That for the purpose of defraying the necessary expenses and liabilities of the said City of Grand Junction, Colorado, for the fiscal year beginning January 1st 1925 and ending December 31st, 1925, there shall be and hereby is levied and assessed upon all the taxable property situated within the corporate limits of the City of Grand Junction, both real and personal, for the purpose of defraying the necessary expenses and liabilities of the said City of Grand Junction, and for the payment of interest on outstanding bonds and warrants and for the payment of interest on outstanding bonds and warrants and for the payment of a portion of the bonded indebtedness of said city, a tax of fourteen mills on each dollar of said property so assessed or to be assessed.

 

 Section 3. By the reason of the fact that this ordinance must be in effect on January 1st, 1925, a special emergency is declared to exist, and the City Council finds and determines that the passage of this Ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and that it shall take effect upon its passage.

 

Adopted and approved this day of December, A.D. 1924.

I DO HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance entitled "THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1ST A.D. 1925 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31ST, A.D. 1925" was introduced, read, passed and adopted, as an emergency ordinance, numbered 372 and ordered published in the Daily Sentinel, the official newspaper of the City of Grand Junction at a regular adjourned meeting of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, held on the 29th day of December, A.D. 1924.
