ORDINANCE NO. 396

AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FOR THE GENERAL OFFICE EXPENSE.

 WHEREAS, since the adoption of the appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31st, 1925, unforeseen contingencies have arisen because of the purchase of needed equipment for the Police Department and the payment of salaries to City Councilmen which was not provided for in the annual appropriation ordinance for the year 1925.

 THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado:

 Section 1: That there be and is hereby appropriated for the purpose of maintaining the Police Department for the remainder of the fiscal year ending December 31st 1925, the sum of $950.00.

 Section 2: That there be and is hereby appropriated for the purpose of defraying the expense of the general office of the City for the remainder of the fiscal year ending December 31st 1925, the sum of $500.00.

 Section 3: By reason of the fact that the funds in the above named departments are exhausted or nearly so, and the work of the departments must be carried on, a special emergency is declared to exist, and the City Council finds and determines that this ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and that it shall take effect upon its passage.

Passed and adopted this 16th day of December, A. D. 1925.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE MAINTENANCE OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT AND FOR GENERAL OFFICE EXPENSE" was introduced, read, passed and adopted as an emergency ordinance of the City of Grand Junction, numbered 396, and ordered published at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, held on the 16th Day of December, 1925.
