ORDINANCE NO. 425

 

THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1st, A. D. 1928, and ENDING DECEMBER 31st, A. D. 1928

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION COLORADO:

 

Section 1. That the following sums of money or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same are hereby appropriated for the purposes of defraying the necessary expenses and liabilities of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, A. D. 1928, and ending December 31st, 1928, to-wit:

 

FIRST:-

For interest and principal on General City Bonds

SECOND:-

For Community Service

2,400.00

THIRD:-

For the Contingent Fund

9,534.64

FOURTH:-

For Maintaining the Fire Department

15,158.00

FIFTH:-

For Maintaining and Improving Health Conditions of the City

9,248.00

SIXTH:-

For Maintaining and Improving Streets and Alleys

18,878.00

SEVENTH:-

For Maintenance Free Public Library

4,500.00

EIGHTH:-

For Lighting Streets and Alleys and Parks

14,688.00

NINTH:-

For the Maintenance and Operation of Moyer Pool

TENTH:-

For Salaries of Officers, Office Supplies, Printing, Fuel, Lights, & Telephone

For Maintaining and Improving the Public Parks and Cemeteries

For Maintaining the Police Dept.

Section 2. That for the purpose of defraying the necessary expenses and liabilities of the said City of Grand Junction, Colorado, for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, 1928, and ending December 31st, 1928, there shall be and hereby is levied and assessed upon all the taxable property situated within the corporate limits of the City of Grand Junction, both real and personal, for the purpose of defraying the necessary expenses and liabilities and water works purposes of the said City of Grand Junction, and for the payment of interest on outstanding bonds and for the payment of a portion of the bonded indebtedness of said City, a tax of fourteen mills on each dollar of said property so assessed.

 

Section 3. By the reason of the fact that this ordinance must be in effect on January 1st, 1928, a special emergency is declared to exist and the City Council finds and determines that the passage of this ordinance is immediately necessary for preservation of the public peace, health and safety, and that it shall take effect upon its passage.

 

Adopted and approved this 7th day of December, A. D. 1927.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing emergency ordinance entitled THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1st, A. D. 1928, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31st, 1928, was introduced, read, and passed, and ordered published by the unanimous vote of the members of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the 7th day of December, A. D. 1927, and numbered 425.
