ORDINANCE NO. 433

 

AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING TRESPASS ON VACANT PREMISES.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

Section 1. TRESPASSING ON CERTAIN PREMISES FORBIDDEN. That all persons, except the owner of those acting by and with the consent, invitation, or request of the owner, are hereby forbidden to enter or trespass upon any lots, lands or premises within the City of Grand Junction, on which is located any vacant building or buildings.

 

Section 2. PARENTS AND GUARDIANS RESPONSIBLE. It is hereby made the duty of parents, guardians or of persons having the charge, custody or control of minor children to actively prevent all minor children lawfully under their direction, control or custody from entering or trespassing upon the lands or premises described in Section 1 hereof; and should they fail, refuse or neglect so to do, he, she or they shall be deemed guilty of a violation of this ordinance.

 

Section 3. PENALTY. Each and every person violating any of the terms of this ordinance shall upon conviction be fined in a sum not less than One Dollar ($1.00) nor more than Two Hundred ($200.00) Dollars for each offense.

 

Section 4. EXCEPTIONS. This ordinance shall not apply to officers and employees of this city, county or state in the lawful discharge of their duties, nor to persons having legitimate business to transact upon such premises.

D. 1928, and that the same was published in The Daily Sentinel, a daily newspaper published and in general circulation in said City, at least ten days before its passage.
