ORDINANCE NO. 436
AN ORDINANCE VACATING CERTAIN STREETS AND ALLEYS IN SLOCOMB'S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION.
WHEREAS, The City of Grand Junction has heretofore purchased and acquired title to lands in Slocomb's Addition to Grand Junction, lying north of Gunnison Avenue and south of North Avenue and adjoining Lincoln Park on the east boundary thereof, as heretofore designated which lands said city has dedicated, appropriated and is now using for park purposes as a part of Lincoln Park, and which said tract is now used as a part of the municipal golf course with other portions of said Lincoln Park; and
WHEREAS, The street and alleyways shown on the recorded plat of said Slocomb's Addition lying north of Gunnison Avenue have never been used or opened as street and alleyways, and the use of said lands now owned by said city is inconsistent with any use by the public generally of said street and alleyways for general traffic; and to permit the opening and use of said street and alleyways of that part of Slocomb's Addition which lies north of Gunnison Avenue, as aforesaid, would render said lands valueless to said city for park purposes as aforesaid:
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:
Section 1. That all streets and alleys designated and shown as such on the recorded plat of Slocomb's Addition to the City of Grand Junction, lying north of Gunnison Avenue, be and the same are hereby vacated for street and alley purposes.

That the fee title to all such streets and alleys described in Section 1 hereof shall revert to and vest in the present owners of the abutting lots or tracts, and that each of such owners shall take title to the middle of such streets and alleys in accordance with the Statutes of the State of Colorado.
