ORDINANCE NO. 440

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION ONE OF ORDINANCE NO. 438 ENTITLED THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1st, A. D. 1929 and ENDING DECEMBER 31st, A. D. 1929.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

That Section One of Ordinance No. 438, being an emergency ordinance adopted and approved December 5th, A. D. 1928 and entitled "The Annual Appropriation Ordinance of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, providing for the expenses and Liabilities of the City of Grand Junction for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, A. D. 1929 and ending December 31st, A. D. 1929", be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

Section 1. That the following sums of money or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same are hereby appropriated for the purposes of defraying the necessary expenses and liabilities of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, A. D. 1929, and ending December 31st, A. D. 1929, to-wit:

Section 2. By the reason of the fact that this ordinance must be in effect on January 1st, 1929, a special emergency is declared to exist and the City Council finds and determines that the passage of this ordinance is immediately necessary for preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and that it shall take its effect upon its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT the foregoing emergency ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION ONE OF ORDINANCE NO. 438, ENTITLED 'THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1ST, A. D. 1929, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31ST, A. D. 1929'", was introduced, read, passed, and ordered published by the unanimous vote of the members of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, at a regular meeting of the said Council held on the 19th day of December, A. D. 1928, and numbered 440.
