ORDINANCE NO. 449

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2 OF ORDINANCE NO. 405, PASSED AND ADOPTED SEPTEMBER 15, 1926.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

Section 1. That Section 2 of Ordinance No. 405, passed and adopted September 15, 1926, and entitled, "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING TRAVEL AND TRAFFIC UPON THE PUBLIC STREETS OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT THEREWITH"., be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

Section 2. Every person operating a vehicle on the streets in the City of Grand Junction shall drive the same in a careful and prudent manner, at a rate of speed no greater than is reasonable and safe, having regard for the width, grade, curves, corners, traffic and use of the streets, and all other attendant circumstances, so as not to endanger the life or limb or property of any person. Driving in excess of twenty miles an hour or driving at a less speed than fifteen miles per hour (except when actually starting or stopping, or under conditions elsewhere regulated in this ordinance) in traffic moving at the rate of more than fifteen miles per hour shall not be considered careful and prudent driving.
