ORDINANCE NO. 472

 

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE

PARK DEPARTMENT AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT

 

 

WHEREAS, Since the adoption of the appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31st, 1930, conditions have arisen requiring the wrecking of the old grand stand and the construction of bleachers on the West side of the football field at Lincoln Park, and

 

WHEREAS, It was necessary to purchase a motorcycle for the use of the Police Department, the necessity of which has arisen since the adoption of the appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31st, 1930,

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 

SECTION 1. That there be and there is hereby appropriated to the Park Department, for the purpose of paying for labor and material used in wrecking the old grand stand and the construction of bleachers on the West side of the football field at Lincoln Park, the sum of Three Thousand and 00/100 ($3,000,00) Dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary.

 

SECTION 2. That there be and there is hereby appropriated to the Police Department, for the purpose of purchasing a motorcycle, the sum of Four Hundred and 00/100 ($400.00) Dollars.

 

SECTION 3. By reason of the fact that no appropriation has been made for the above work and equipment, and that this work must be carried on, and the equipment provided, a special emergency is declared to exist, and the City Council so finds and determines that this ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health and safety, and that it shall take effect upon its passage.

D. 1930, and numbered 472.
