ORDINANCE NO. 487

 

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION

FOR THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT

 

 

WHEREAS, since the date of the adoption of the annual appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1931, unforseen contingencies have arisen in that the City has been called upon to expend more money than provided in the budget for salaries, labor and care of teams in the Highway Department and as a result thereof, insufficient funds remain in said Highway Department fund with which to pay the above described expenses, and an emergency exists.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

SECTION 1. That for the purpose of paying the expenses already incurred and to be incurred by the Highway Department of the City of Grand Junction for the year ending December 31st, 1931, there is hereby appropriated out of general funds belonging to said City the sum of One Thousand Five Hundred ($1,500.00) Dollars.

 

SECTION 2. That in the opinion of the City Council a special emergency exists for the preservation of the public health and safety, and this ordinance shall therefore go into effect upon its passage.

D. 1931.
