ORDINANCE NO. 507

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION

FOR THE WATER DEPARTMENT

WHEREAS, since the date of the adoption of the annual appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31, 1933, unforseen contingencies have arisen in that the City has been called upon to expend more money than provided in the budget for the construction of a concrete lining in a portion of the reservoir, as an unemployment relief measure, and as a result thereof, insufficient funds remain in said Water Department Appropriation with which to pay the expenses for the balance of the year.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

SECTION 1. That for the purpose of paying the necessary expenses in the Water Department for the year ending December 31st, 1933, there is hereby appropriated out of Water funds belonging to said City, the sum of Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($7,500.00).

SECTION 2. That in the opinion of the City Council, a special emergency exists for the preservation of the public health and safety, and this ordinance shall therefore go into effect upon its passage.

Passed and adopted this 15th day of November, A. D. 1933.

/s/ Allen C. Holcombe

President of the Council
