ORDINANCE NO. 508
AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING CERTAIN SUMS OF MONEY TO DEFRAY THE NECESSARY EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1ST, 1934, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31ST, 1934, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO.
SECTION 1. That the following sums of money or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the same are hereby appropriated for the purpose of defraying the necessary expenses and liabilities of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, for the fiscal year beginning January 1st, 1934, and ending December 31st, 1934, to-wit:
For General Bonds, Interest and Principal $15,530.00
For Miscellaneous Fund 5,780.38
Special Contingent Fund 4,209.19
For Engineering Department 1,200.00
For Airport Maintenance & Repair 350.00
For Fire Department 12,951.50
For Hydrant Rental 2,920.00
For Health Department 5,443.75
For Lighting streets & Parks 14,784.80
For Park Department 19,509.44
For Highway Department 15,865.00
For Sewer Department 1,006.00
For Police Department 16,615.00
For Public Benefit 2,050.00
For General Office 12,758.00
For Library 4,600.00
For Moyer Pool, Maintenance & Improvement 2,200.00
For Water Department, Operation & Imps. 55,858.46
For Water Department, Bonds & Interest 55,712.50
TOTAL $249,344.02
SECTION 2. That the amounts hereby appropriated for water bonds and interest and for maintenance, operation, and improvement of the water system shall be provided for and paid out of the Water Fund.
That the amount appropriated for Moyer Pool maintenance and improvement shall be paid out of the funds on hand in the Moyer Pool Fund and revenue received from Moyer Pool for the year 1934.
That the amount appropriated for all other purposes shall be provided for by income from license fees, franchise tax and other miscellaneous receipts, and by levy upon all property subject to local levy within the corporate limits of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, as hereafter stated.
SECTION 3. The following amounts are hereby levied for the year 1933 to meet the necessary expenditures and liabilities of the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, for the year 1934, for the specific purposes indicated.
For General Fund (based on general fund appropriation) 13 and 3552/10000 of one mill . . . . $95,268.06
For Library Fund, 6448/10000 of one mill 4,600.00
Total 14 mills 99,868.06
SECTION 4. By reason of the fact that this ordinance must be in effect on January 1st, 1934, a special emergency is declared to exist and the City Council finds and determines that the passage of this ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, and that it shall take effect upon its passage.

I HEREBY CERTIFY That the foregoing emergency ordinance entitled, "AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING CERTAIN SUMS OF MONEY TO DEFRAY THE NECESSARY EXPENSES AND LIABILITIES OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1st, 1934, AND ENDING DECEMBER 31st, 1934, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY", was introduced, read, passed, numbered 508 and ordered published, by the unanimous vote of the members of the City Council of the City of Grand Junction, at a regular meeting of said Council held December 20th, 1933.
