ORDINANCE NO. 523

 

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 45 OF ORDINANCE NO. 405.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:

 

SECTION 1. That Section 45 of Ordinance No. 405 be and it is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

SECTION 45. On Main Street between the right of way of the Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad Co. and Eighth Street, on Colorado Avenue between Second and Seventh Streets, on Second, Third, and Sixth Streets between Colorado and Rood Avenues, on Fourth Street between Ute and Rood Avenues, on Seventh Street between Colorado and White Avenues, and on such other streets as the City Manager may designate and mark for such purpose, all vehicles shall be parked at an angle of forty-five degrees to the curb, with the right front wheel touching the curb, and where diagonal parking spaces are marked upon the pavement, all vehicles shall be parked therein; provided that no vehicle or vehicle and load in excess of eighteen feet in length shall park on the aforesaid streets where diagonal parking is required. On all other streets of said City all vehicles shall park parallel to the curb, with the right side of such vehicle within one foot of the curb and with at least three feet of space between such vehicle and any adjacent vehicle.

 

SECTION 2. That in the opinion of the City Council, a special emergency exists for the preservation of the public health and safety, and this ordinance shall therefore go into effect upon its passage.
