ORDINANCE NO. 527

AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION

TO THE HIGHWAY DEPARTMENT.

WHEREAS, Since the adoption of the appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year ending December 31st, 1934, it has been necessary for the City to provide materials and equipment for the construction work done on Curb and Gutter District No. 2, and for the grading and oiling of intersections in the oiling program under F. E. R. A., and

WHEREAS, These expenditures have been actually paid out of the funds of the Highway Department of the City of Grand Junction and provision for these materials and use of equipment was not contemplated in the making up of said budget;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

SECTION 1. That there be, and there is hereby appropriated to the Highway Department for the purpose of reimbursing the said Department for materials and the use of equipment for the construction of Curb and Gutter District No. 2, and various intersections throughout the City, the sum of One Thousand Five Hundred ($1,500.00) Dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary.

SECTION 2. That Nine Hundred Eighteen ($918.00) Dollars of the amount paid out by the Highway Department for curb and gutter materials and equipment be refunded to said Department from the funds on hand in Curb and Gutter District No. 2; and that Five Hundred Eighty-two ($582.00) Dollars be refunded to the Highway Department from funds on hand in the Intersection Fund.

SECTION 3. By reason of the fact that this money has already been advanced and the appropriation for the Highway Department would be overdrawn unless reimbursed, a special emergency is declared to exist and the City Council so finds and determines that this ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health and safety, and that it shall take effect upon its passage.

Passed and adopted this 19th day of December, A. D. 1934.
