ORDINANCE NO. 581
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING PARAGRAPH "(k)" OF SECTION 18 OF ORDINANCE NO. 479
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:
SECTION 1. That Paragraph "(k)" of Section 18 be amended to read as follows:
(k) All electrical installations requiring cutouts shall have fuse blocks installed in metallic cabinets.
All electrical installations requiring fuses which might be replaced with fuses of greater capacity than that required for the installation shall be fused with an approved type of non-tamperable plug cutout bases and fuses constructed according to the following specifications:
1. Plug fuses shall be rendered non-tamperable either by the use of an adapter in a standard plug fuse cutout base or by the use of special cutout base. Non-tamperable plug fuses of the 16-30 ampere classification shall not be usable with the special bases or adapters for non-tamperable fuses of the 0-15 ampere classification.
2. They shall be of such a type and so designed as to be subject to tampering or bridging only with difficulty.
3. When installed and fully assembled they shall have no live parts exposed.
4. The adapter used with this fuse must be so designed that once inserted into the cutout base it cannot be removed.
5. The adapter and the non-tamperable cutout base shall be of such design as to be capable of receiving only a fuse plug constructed to the above specifications.
6. Fuses, bases and adapters of various manufacturers shall be interchangeable with each other.
