ORDINANCE NO. 629

AN ORDINANCE LICENSING AND REGULATING ROLLER SKATING RINKS.

 BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION, COLORADO:

 Section I. License. No person, firm or corporation in this City shall conduct, maintain or operate a roller skating rink therein without first obtaining a license therefor, and shall pay for such license the sum of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) for each consecutive ninety day period of time, or fractional part thereof, the same shall be in operation.

 Section II. Regulation. All roller skating rinks hereafter operated in the City of Grand Junction, Colorado, shall close note later than eleven o'clock P. M. each night and remain closed until the following morning, except upon special written permission from the City Manager of said City, and under such circumstances as in the opinion of said City Manager shall not interfere with the public health, morals, and safety.

 Section III. Penalty. Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this Ordinance shall be fined not less than Five Dollars ($5.00) and not more than One hundred Dollars ($100.00) for each offense, and each day's failure to observe the provisions hereof shall constitute a separate offense.

 Section IV. Emergency Clause. The City Council is of the opinion and finds, determines and declares that this Ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the public health and safety, and that a special emergency exists therefor; and this Ordinance shall therefore be effective and in force from and after its adoption and passage.
