ORDINANCE NO. 668
AN EMERGENCY ORDINANCE PROVIDING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE AIRPORT
WHEREAS, in order that the War Service Training Program may be continued and expanded, it is necessary that the hangar at the Municipal Airport (Walker Field) be enlarged to accommodate many more planes, and
WHEREAS, the necessity for the enlarging of the hangar was caused by an unforeseen contingency occurring after the passage of the annual appropriation ordinance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF GRAND JUNCTION:
Section 1. That there be and is hereby appropriated out of the General Funds of the City to the Airport Fund, the sum of Six Thousand Dollars ($6,000.00).
By reason of the fact that it is necessary to enlarge the hangar at the Municipal Airport (Walker Field) immediately, so that the War Service Training Program may be continued and expanded, and that the work on the enlargement of said hangar must be completed by May 20th, a special emergency exists. Therefore, the City Council finds and determines that the passage of this ordinance is immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, peace and safety, and it shall take effect upon its passage.
